About

A clear record of who I am and the work I do.

I come from environments where systems had to work under pressure — not just look good on paper. My experience includes Army 31U communications, tactical radio systems, networked equipment, system troubleshooting, deployment, maintenance, and resolving problems in demanding field environments.

From the Rifleman Radio lab and field build with General Dynamics C4 Systems to fiber optic backbone and fusion splice training on the SH-130 corridor in Texas, I consistently bring value and technical competence to the teams I am attached to.

That hands-on foundation now drives my work in Cybersecurity Analysis, Security Operations, and Network Security. I hold CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, and the stackable CIOS, CSIS, and CSAP credentials.

Based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Open to remote and travel opportunities.

Professional Experience

Two decades of real-world technical excellence.

Portrait Photographer & Commercial Drone Pilot

Self-employed  •  Las Vegas, NV  •  2022 – 2023 · 2024 – Present

Run client intake, scheduling, capture, post-processing, and delivery end-to-end — the same remote work habits a support role needs. Maintain cameras, aircraft, and backups so jobs do not fail on site. FAA Part 107 certified.

Electronic Test Technician

EJ Ward, Inc.  •  San Antonio, TX  •  Jan 2019 – Jul 2019

Diagnosed and repaired field electronics to specification and wrote the corrective-action notes that map cleanly to IT tickets and case management workflows.

Fiber Optic Fusion Splice Trainer & Electronic Technician

SH 130 Concession Company, LLC  •  Buda, TX  •  Feb 2016 – May 2017

Hired specifically to train the existing technician team on fusion splicing during a backbone upgrade on the SH 130 toll network. Spliced production fiber for low-loss links the tolling and communications systems depend on. Kept gates live between fiber jobs — transponders, lighting, electronics — including bucket-truck work over live lanes.

NPI Test Engineer

Flextronics (Flex)  •  Round Rock, TX  •  2013 – 2014

Ran environmental chambers, burn-in racks, and software-cycle benches on new product introductions. Owned the Root Cause Analysis station — the hardest seat on the floor — and wrote failure reports engineering could use. Trained station technicians on procedure and documentation. Participated in Six Sigma Green Belt / DMAIC work.

RF Technician → Central Region Demo Logistics Specialist

Rohde & Schwarz  •  Flower Mound, TX  •  Feb 2012 – Oct 2013

Built engineer-designed RF test racks from the ground up: install, functional test, calibration check, ship. Promoted in three months. Then owned $45M+ in demo inventory for the entire Central U.S. Staged firmware, accessories, and shipping so field sales walked into customer sites with working gear.

RF Lab & Field Test Technician — Rifleman Radio

General Dynamics C4 Systems (contract)  •  Phoenix, AZ  •  Oct 2008 – Nov 2009

Lab and field support for a software-defined rifleman radio: firmware loads, RF signal checks, functional validation. Deployed units in real terrain, captured results, and documented to program and military acceptance standards.

Communications Electronic Technician

ITT / Exelis (now L3Harris)  •  CONUS & Doha, Qatar  •  Feb 2003 – Aug 2008

Senior communications and electronics maintenance across defense contracts. Trained junior technicians and wrote incident reports to military standards. Doha deployment (2007–2008): installed Harris tactical radios and Blue Force Tracking systems; processed battle-damaged equipment returning from Iraq. Supervised six foreign-national technicians and maintained warehouse accountability.

31U Signal Support Systems Specialist

United States Army  •  Jun 1999 – Jul 2003

Installed, operated, and repaired Army signal systems in the field. Became the translator between the gear and the people who had to use it — building the troubleshooting discipline that defined the next 20 years.
